Teach-in on Debt Cancellation and Land Reforms

Last Friday SLRC facilitated a teach-in and discussion on debt cancellation and land reforms in post-flood Pakistan.

The teach-in began with a presentation by Abira Ashfaq on the issue of external debt and conditionalities, their impact on poverty in Pakistan and the anti-democratic nature of lending.

Nasir Mansoor presented on the history of land ownership in Pakistan and the current situation in light of the floods. He also spoke about peasant struggles and resistance in different parts of the country.

Thanks to everyone at T2F for letting us use their space as well as everyone who came out and participated whole-heartedly in the discussion that followed. There will be more to come.
